Visual Journalism

 Originally I was going to do my Visual Journalism over the Bossier Night Market. Unfortunately that got canceled and so I didn't quite know what to do. So after some thinking I decided to do my final project over the celebration over the SAU Dec 2024 graduates.Graduation is held 4 times a year in the Donald W. Reynolds gym in Magnolia Arkansas. 

The capacity for the gym is 2,000 individuals for special events. The graduation begin at 10:00, 2:00, and 4:00. I attended the 10 and 2 I worked the 10:00 and went to watch my very close friend KoryLynn graduate at 2:00. The gym was very full at the time of graduation. 

Graduation was very punctual and began on time. Speakers included Dr. Hicks (president), Dean Rowsam, and Dr. Sheila Pearson. The graduation  took about an hour for both ceremonies and highlighted the accomplishments of the graduates. The ceremony also consisted of an opening and closing prayer, and the singing of the Alma Matter by Sarah Mickey. 

Below are some photos from graduation as well as a video showcasing the big day for many.  For individuals not able to attend the graduation they also live-streamed it on Facebook. Along with this the communications team was also there too capture the big moment for many. 

This was me after KoryLynn walked across the stage, I was not okay, yet so proud of her!!
