Fire destroys Historic building on Knoxville College campus.

The fire at Elnathan Hall, a historic building on the Knoxville College campus in Tennessee, occurred on November 4, 2024. Elnathan Hall, built in 1898, had served various roles, including as a dormitory and administration building. Knoxville College, a historically Black institution, has struggled with declining enrollment and financial issues for years, leaving many campus buildings abandoned. The fire’s cause is under investigation, but Knoxville College's campus has faced multiple fires, often attributed to nearby activity. This loss highlights ongoing preservation challenges at the college.

Elnathan hall at Knoxville college is left in ruins after a fire wipes it out. The building was 126 years old. Investigators are looking into the fire to find the root of the fire. A statement from Assistant Chief Mark Wilbanks states that he's not 100% certain but believes the fire was man made. Knox News.
