Magnolia reporter started in 2010,  Mike McNeill resigned at his job of 11 years, to start the Magnolia Reporter. He had worked in over 4 states over his 33 year career in the news writing industry. 14 years later Magnolia Reporter now has over 25,000 followers on Facebook and around the same on the free website.

Magnolia reporter offers many different news stories to highlight community members and to inform residents of magnolia of events going on. Magnolia reporter also lists the divorces, bankruptcies, marriages, and the Inmate roster on their website. Mike McNeill also loves to host storm watch parties on the Facebook. Magnolia Reporter does a great job of reaching the public. As we know the News Paper industry has seen a drastic decline as we use social media. With Magnolia Reporter being mostly used on Facebook allows for Mike McNeill to reach the public in the same way a newspaper would yet doing it digitally.

Having something like Magnolia Reporter has been a very great addition to reading the public. Not only does it highlight things in the community but also does a great job of recognizing SAU students. Mike often posts about SAU athletics, new scholarships, and recognizing students that make the Dean and President's list.
